17 Alberta Festivals To Experience This Summer

Summers in Alberta are full of amazing things to do!  From June, right until the end of August, we can keep busy and still not see everything!  There are rodeos, music festivals, food festivals, fairs, midways…endless activities for the whole family!

We’re sharing 17 different festivals that would be so fun to attend!  I think we need to add some of these to our Alberta Bucket List!

Peace River Annual Pow Wow

  • 24th Annual Aboriginal Gathering and 16th Annual Pow Wow.  Activities include entertainment, fiddling, displays, crafts, children’s activities, dancers, hand drum groups, concession.

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity

  • This summer, the mountains will come alive with the best in dance, music and opera at the The Banff Arts Centre!

Sustainival

  • The World’s First Green Carnival.  Featuring games, attractions and rides powered by renewable energy.

Vikings in the Streets Festival

  • A family friendly celebration of the community and Scandinavian heritage.  Come see how the vikings lived long ago.  Activities include a pancake breakfast, parade, chili cook-off, beer gardens, live music, food vendors and more.

North Country Fair

  • A summer solstice celebration with music, camping, food, craft vendors, workshops, and children’s activities.

Plaid Goat Mountain Bike Festival

  • A three day festival of fun activities. The event is a large-scale demo and expo that offers different ways to celebrate riding the Rockies. Event includes an expo/festival, bike demos for Demo-licious Days wristband holders, group rides, coaching and shuttles, a craft beer hub, kms on end of great Canadian singletrack.

Wild Mountain Music Festival

  • A multi-genre music festival.  Take in live music, food trucks and an open license venue.

Vul-Con 2018

  • A family friendly convention for Star Trek fans!  Activities include food, kids zone, vendors, costume contest, autograph and Q&A sessions, photo ops, and a parade!

Blueberry Bluegrass and Country Music Festival

  • A family friendly weekend of Bluegrass and country music.  Activities include a country dance Friday & Saturday night, an arts market and food trucks.

Calgary Dragonboat Festival

  • A weekend of Dragonboat racing, as well as a cultural festival.  Includes cultural entertainment, beer gardens, food trucks, and a farmers’ market.

GlobalFest

  • 5 nights of fireworks representing Ukraine, Spain, Philippines, China and Canada! The event also has food concessions, a night market, beer garden, and a children’s village.

Taber Cornfest
