Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets is located on Tunnel Mountain, and is a 4 minute drive from the Town of Banff. This resort offers condo style accommodations in Banff National Park, and is perfect for families. This resort was definitely made with families in mind!
Family friendly amenities include:
- Enjoy the indoor waterpark with 2 waterslides, a wading pool and hot tub! Tonnes of fun for the kids!
- Hang out in the outdoor hot tub.
- There’s also an indoor playground for the kids measuring two storeys in height and 36 feet in length! So there is a tonne of room for play.
- The rooms come with “Plug and Play” panels. This means that you can bring all your electronic gaming systems (wii, Xbox etc)! Just don’t forget all your connector cables!
- The rooms come with fully equipped kitchens which are perfect for creating your own meals.
- Complimentary playpens are available for kids up to 3 years of age.
- Coin operated washing machines and dryers are available for use, which we all know can come in handy when travelling with kids!
- This resort is pet friendly too, but make sure to let the resort know ahead of time that you’d like to bring your furry friend, as pet friendly rooms are limited.
- Good to know: There is no dining available on site.
- Fun Tip! The rooms also have wood burning fireplaces (with free firewood) so bring marshmallows for toasting!

Moose Hotel & Suites is a 1 minute walk from downtown Banff, so you’re right in the heart of Banff! This hotel offers all the comforts of home and more.
Family friendly amenities include:
- This hotel has an indoor pool, which is always a must have with kids!
- There are also two rooftop hot pools. Their location is a perfect place for a soaking with amazing views.
- Family friendly on-site dining is available so you don’t have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to!
- Suites with a kitchen nook (mini fridge, sink, microwave, toaster) are available.
- The rooms are pet friendly (dogs and cats) for a small nightly fee. The hotel will also provide a pet bed, water and food bowls, a take home toy and special treats! Now that’s royal pet treatment! Make sure to book in advance.

Located in the Town of Banff, Banff Park Lodge is a full service hotel that gives you quick access to everything Banff has to offer! This is a nice option if you want to be right in the middle of town.
Family friendly amenities include:
- The lodge offers in-house dining, with a family friendly Sunday brunch too.
- There is an indoor pool for entertaining the kids.
- Rooms have convenience fridges, for your own food and snacks.
- The Lodge Rooms have space for up to 6 people. These are larger than standard rooms, and come with two queen beds, a sitting area with a sofa bed, TV, DVD player and a microwave. The suite also has two full size bathrooms.

This hotel is located right on Banff Avenue, so you are just a short distance away from downtown Banff. This is a great option for families, especially with the free continental breakfast and amazing hot pool!
Family friendly amenities include:

- They offer a complimentary daily continental breakfast which is so great for travelling families! Includes make our own waffles!
- Family friendly dining at Chili’s restaurant, is available right on site!

Although a little more pricey, the Fairmont Banff Springs is a great place to stay with kids! The hotel is very welcoming of little ones and offers many family-friendly activities…more than we’ve seen at most hotels in fact!
Family friendly amenities include:
- Enjoy the Indoor/Outdoor pools! Families are always welcome, but there is a family friendly allocated swim time as well, so you can go and not worry about splashing and making noise!
- There are all kinds of family-friendly programs you can participate in with your family! Go on a walk with the hotel dog ‘Bear’, take a Heritage Tour and learn about the hotel, enjoy stories by the campfire, toboggan, watch a movie…and so much more. Visit the recreation page on their website.
- Kids @ The Castle programs are available for kids aged 3 to 12. Some of the activities offered are holiday activities, Pajamarama night (a PJ party complete with a movie, games, crafts and more), build your own volcano and more! Make sure to book reservations ahead of time
- Take the family bowling during your stay! The Banff Springs Bowling Centre is equipped with 4 lanes of Canadian 5-pin bowling, ping-pong tables, a pool table and a fully licensed bar. Make sure you make reservations.
- Babysitting services are available, which is so nice if mom and dad want to have a quiet dinner together.
- Pets are welcome, and the hotel even offers pet-sitting services if booked 24 hours in advance!

The nice thing about this lodge is the full breakfast buffet that is included with each stay, and its close proximity to the Banff Upper Hot Springs.
