Need Childcare in Jasper? There’s a Nanny for That

For those adventures when you just can’t bring the kids, Childcare in Jasper is easy with My Jasper Nanny!

Have you ever been on a weekend adventure with the kids, and discover an activity that isn’t particularly kid-friendly? For the last couple of winters. We had been meaning to go on a winter adventure, on an ice walk through Maligne Canyon. Not recommended for children under seven, the tour is one we didn’t want to miss.

A few days before the trip, I searched for ‘babysitting services in Jasper’ and My Jasper Nanny came up. I called Jamie, and let him know this was exactly what we were looking for. Unsure about the service, I called Melody, who immediately put me at ease, answering the questions I had and filling me in on the next steps needed to complete the reservation.

I paid the booking fee ($23) and filled out a comprehensive form about the child being taken care of. In this instance, we were leaving Stella (3 months) with a Nanny. The night before the service, we called to confirm a time change, and Melody accommodated it with ease.

Melody sent along a Nanny familiar with infants, who put us at ease when she arrived straight to our hotel room, a few minutes before eight o’clock. We had time to chat to let her know Stella’s routine, explain how to warm up the bottle (she probably knew, this was for my own ‘first-time-leaving-Stella-without-a-family-member’ jitters, and explaining where the diapers etc. were before we left.  Stella fell asleep in her cot just as we were putting on ski pants for the day’s adventure, and didn’t even notice us leaving.

Things didn’t go as planned and I returned a bit early, on account of spraining my knee – and Nina had just finished changing her. Stella was happy, fed, changed and babbling when we returned, just before one o’clock.

For older children, My Jasper Nanny will ensure that they spend some time exploring outdoors, the library, parent link and other kid-friendly adventures while parents are out – for an infant, we left the stroller and layers, in case she wanted to take her for a walk.

We paid Nina the $14/hour Nanny fee directly, and she was on her way. She was lovely, and we were exhausted from adventure, happy that we found such a great service in Jasper.
